I just want her to have a good day. She had a very rough and miserable April.
or what will you be getting your mom for Mother's Day?
I'm simply hoping for a new CD (Matt Costa, Songs We Sing) and that my husband takes care of dinner plans.
For my own mom, I usually get her a hanging basket of fuscias.

I would like my DH and/or kids to let me work in my garden for the day. Hopefully, it will be sunny. I went to Dinner By Designs a few days ago where you make a bunch of meals for your freezer. One of the meals I made was a cinnamon stuffed french toast bake. It is stuffed with a cream cheese, vanilla and cinnamon center. My DH can put that in the oven, make coffee and call it brunch.
For my MIL, she asked for geraniums to plant in her garden which is easy.
For my Mom who lives out of state, I was just looking on e-Bay for some handmade crystal earrings. I have a few favorite sellers. She has everything, but I like to send her something small with a nice card.
Last year at this time we lost my mom so anything to take our minds off of that anniversary will be a good thing.
My birthday is just before Mother's Day so they often get combined and sometimes just skipped over. I told my family that I would like to have a party this year. Nothing fancy, but I would like them to make cake and get some sort of decorations. I would be happy with fancy paper plates with matching napkins or maybe a floral centerpiece.
My dd has gotten all giggly and she has been having secret meetings with her dad so I know they are planning something.
I am also hoping to use the "It's my day" ploy to get them to watch a movie that I pick out. That would be fun.
Nancy, your signature is wonderful!!!
For my mom I'll get her a new bottle of her favorite perfume or something similar that she wants and won't buy for herself. For myself, I'd like my girls to get along for one day and clean after themselves without grumbling. I also like it when they present me with a handmade card.

My experience at Dinners By Design was excellent. I made 6 entrees each serving 6 people for $112. They are very nice quality and tasty. I went with a friend. It took us 1 hour and 20 minutes to each make our 6 entrees. We will be able to prepare faster if/when we go again. It was great for me because I have been in a dinner time slump. I made a few things I never would have made at home. All the spices were fresh, everything was chopped up, the staff cleaned up all the mess. It was like being on a cooking show.
The food so far has gotten rave reviews from my family.
I'm giving ebay Sam to my mom (had this planned since I won her). And Sam will either have mini Nellie or her own mini-me (mini Sam) to go along with her. I'm saying it's partly a very late bday present for my mom/for Mother's Day. And I hope we get home safely since school ends the 13th.

My mom always asks for a hanging fuchsia basket too. When I informed her yesterday that it was boring and never a surprise, she did one of those "But that's what I realllllly want" things, so I guess I have to get it for her. But she's also getting a set of mixing bowls--she just recently got rid of the truly awful green-and-white flowered things that my dad had when they got married.
I don't know what my dad's getting her, but he's informed me that he already has all her Mother's Day and birthday (which is in June) gifts. I kept seeing him with the Land's End catalog, so I'm thinking clothes.
